The Martin Walker Memorial (most miles wins)
The challenge was set. After a lacklustre couple of months, could Martin get back in the frame? The month wasn’t only about Martin though, as we had all struggled to meet June’s challenge. With Ali, Kenny and Kev all set to start training for the Great Scottish Run, July should have seen us recording some decent miles.
The challenge began with Martin getting tore into a hill race at the Luss Highland Games. Kev took in some beautiful sights running the West Highland Way doing a Drymen – Balmaha loop whilst Ali and Kenny had some sunnier runs in Menorca. New training programmes and the impetus to get out saw us recording Kenyan Hills, mile reps, 800m intervals, hill reps and Kev finished 3rd in the Drumchapel Parkrun – safe to say the E6C was back on track.
There were a few hangovers recorded along the way, but what impact would these have on the final numbers?

Wow what a race for second place. Ali absolutely raging at big Kendo sneaking it with 0.1 miles. Not a great result for Martin as he took Course Sweeper again but he can take solace in the fact that he had improved on his June total.
